Webflow AMA Site

A dynamic one-page Webflow site for an AMA meetup.

The Problem: Transforming a Presentation into an Experience

Initially, I planned to use a simple slide deck to share my journey from WordPress to Webflow during an AMA meetup. However, I realized this approach lacked the impact needed to truly showcase Webflow's potential. The challenge was to create a resourceful, one-page website that not only educated attendees but also demonstrated Webflow’s unique features. Key requirements included:

  • Showcasing animations and interactions.

  • Delivering a sleek, modern design appealing to business owners and design agencies.

  • Ensuring responsiveness and ease of use.

  • Housing resources for attendees to access post-event.

The Solution: A Seamless Blend of Design and Functionality

To address these needs, I designed the one-pager as if it were an interactive slide deck. Each section animated into view, highlighting Webflow’s capabilities while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic. Here’s how I approached the project:

  1. Design Direction:

    • Targeted business owners and design agencies with a contemporary look.

    • Created an innovative illustration style by cutting out layers of the Webflow UI for visual appeal.

    • Balanced simplicity with intrigue to ensure the design was impressive but not overwhelming.

  2. Development Process:

    • Built the site entirely in Webflow, leveraging its interaction tools for animations like fade-ins and parallax effects.

    • Used Figma for UI design and images from Unsplash, customized to fit the site’s theme.

    • Chose Mint Grotesk for headlines and Capito for body text, ensuring a distinct yet professional typography.

  3. Resource Integration:

    • Added a resources section for attendees to revisit key materials after the AMA.

    • Documented the build process via screen share, laying the groundwork for future tutorial videos.

The result was an engaging, responsive website that not only served its purpose for the AMA but also stood as a testament to Webflow’s capabilities.
